The girl got a guru in order to improve her self and life spiritually.
1. guru - Meditation master who has attained oneness with God and who initiates others into the spiritual path and guides them to liberation.

Winter Break Book Report

Kite Runner
Kite Runner, written by Khaled Hosseini, is a novel about a friendship between two boys who grow up in Afghanistan during the seventies. Amir is the man character and the protagonist. He is a Sunni Muslim and a Pashtun, and comes from a wealthy family. He becomes best friends with his father's servants son, Hassan. Hassan is a Shi'a Muslim and a Hazara. Even though Hassan's people are the minority ethnic group and oppressed in Afghanistan, Amir and his father Baba treat him as an equal.
Amir has a good childhood in Afghanistan up until a day that changes his life forever. After Amir sees his friend Hassan get attacked by a group of neighborhood bullies, it haunts him until he is an adult. After this occurs Amer feels intense guilt and shame because he did not help his friend, even though Hassan had always been a loyal and true friend to him. When war break out in Afrghanistan Amir and his father flee to America.
When Amir comes to America he goes to school, marries an Afghan woman named Soraya, and becomes a successful writer. But he still can not get over his past regrets. He tries hard to make his father proud of him, but then his father dies of cancer. One day he gets a call from a friend in Pakistan. He decides to go to Pakistan and try to make things right. When he travels to Pakistan he meets his friends who then tells him a secret his father never told him. He learns that Hassan is actually his half brother, and that Hassan was killed by the Taliban. He also learns that Hassan had a son named Sohrab who is now in Kabul. Amir decides to go to Afghanistan and find Sohrab. He finds Sohrab in an orphanage and then adopts him and brings him back to America with him.

James Madison Essay

James Madison was born on March 16, 1751, in Orange County, Virginia. He was the oldest of 12 children, and grew up into a wealthy family. His parents owned a tobacco plantation and owned slaves. James Madison attended Princeton University from 1769 to 1771. He became a lawyer but then later on got into politics. He married in September 24, 1794 to a woman named Dolly Payne Todd. They had no children together and were known for being opposites. Dolly was very outgoing, attractive, and nice, while Madison was known as shy, and serious. James Madison was also known for being a very small man. He was only 5’2” and weighed around 100 lbs. He later on became a politician and the fourth president of the United States. He served two terms during 1809-1817. While Madison was president he led America into the war of 1812 which was fought against Britain. This war was fought in order to protect America’s Economic rights. America won the war and it ended three years later in 1815. James Madison is known as “the father of the constitution” because he helped create the federal papers, the bill of rights and He was also one of the Founding Fathers, who helped create the constitution. He believed that America should fight against corruption and aristocracy and also wanted to ensure that republicanism in the United States. James Madison was also the secretary of state for Thomas Jefferson from 1801-1809. While serving as the secretary of state he supervised the Louisiana Purchase, which helped America by doubling our country’s size. James Madison died June, 28, 1836. He was 85 years old and died of debility. Overall James Madison changed America in many ways, through his presidency, and also his major contribution in creating the constitution. James Madison was a very important president, whose legacy will always be remembered.

Winter Break Book Report

Eat, Pray, Love
Eat, Pray, Love, is a novel written by Elizebeth Gilbert. It is a true story about a woman who travels to Italy, India, and Indonesia in order to find herself. Elizebeth has everything a person could want. She is a successful writer, wealthy, and married. But even though to others she may seem to have her life in order, inside she suffers from depression, and lonliness. She feels pressure to start a family, and she also wants to get a divorce from her husband. One day she decides to change her life in order to try to find happiness. She divorces her husband, starts taking yoga classes, and also starts learning Italian. She decides to travel to three different countries for four months each. The first country she goes to is Italy. While she is in Italy she learns Italy, gets over her depression, and eats a lot of Italian food. Then she goes to India where she stays in an Ashram. While she is there she learns about devotion and prayer. She becomes a lot more spiritual and describes how during one of her meditations she goes into a different dimension and is in the hand of God. The last country she visits is Indonesia. She goes to a small island called Bali, where she mets a medicean man who teaches her more about meditation, prayer, and God. She makes many friends in Bali, and also finds love. She mets a Brazillian man named Felipe and they end up falling in love. In the end Elizebeth goes to three different countries. Italy to eat, India to pray, and Indonesia where she finds love.
