Kindergarden
Little children play outside
They don't question or wonder why
Because today the world is a beautiful place
No hate of sex ,religion, or race
No problems fill their minds
Only happy innocent thoughts pass by
So unaware
Of how unfair and harsh this world can be
Without much justice or sympathy
And even though tommorow they might just understand
That there lives won't always go as planned
They won't have to worry for a while
So today they can just smile

College Students in Iran Protest

In Tehran, hundreds of students from Tehran University are protesting against their government. The majority of Iran dislikes their government and their leaders. The students have been shouting slogans against supreme religious leader Ayatollah Khamenei, and their president Macmoud Ahmadinejad. They have called him a dictator, and want to reform their government. They want America's support in order to overthrow their government. They are also protesting because three students from their university were put in jail, and they are also protesting for their release. The Iranian government is also blaming the U.S. for starting the riots. Students from other universities also joined in the protest and broke one of the universities gates. No students were arrested or injured.

Thomson's Violin

I think if I was in this situation at first I would be really confused and mad because the people had not asked for my permission. I would also be really upset because it is basically taking away a year of my life. I think it would be a really hard decision for me, but it would also be really hard to let the person die, since it is in my power, so I think I would do it. If I let the person die then I know I would feel really bad and regretful later on in life.

Barder and the Flying Turban

One day a little boy named Charlie went outside to play with his dog. First he played fetch with his dog Barder, but soon he got bored so he put on his orange turban he had bought the day before. Charlie laid down on the grass and closed his eyes and drifted off into his imagination. He imagined he was a super hero and Barder was his sidekick. in his dream Barder could fly and him and Barder flew all over the world fighting crime and saving the world. The end!

Trial Reflection

In America we are known for having one of the best judicial systems. We are told that we are innocent until proven guilty. Even though there may be some cases in which the verdict is wrong, overall our judicial system is fair.
One of the main reasons why it is fair is because of our jury. There are twelve people on our jury and this helps to get many different opinions from each person. They are all random people who don’t have any biases towards the plaintiff or the defendant. Also both the plaintiff and the defendant have the right to an attorney. During a trial they also make it equal for both the plaintiff and defendant, so that neither has an advantage. This makes it fair for the jury to decide and verdict.
During the mock trial I was part of the jury. Being part of the jury helped me to realize how America’s judicial system works and how it is as fair as it can be. All of the different components of our judicial systems allow us to have well functioning trials, which are usually accurate, and serve justice.
